More Krishna water is on its way to the city, which is struggling to boost its water resources. This follows a visit of the officials from the Tamil Nadu Water Resources Department to Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh on Thursday seeking an increase in Krishna water release to meet the requirement of Chennai. On Friday, the State’s entry point of the Kandaleru Poondi canal in Uthukottai, Tiruvallur district, received 407 cusecs of Krishna water. Since January 1, Chennai has received 770 mcft of Krishna water, which is enough to cater to city water supply for nearly 20 days.
