The memorial cemetery, the only United Nations Cemetery in the world is home to fallen veterans from 11 countries. The idea of "Turn Toward Busan" was first proposed in 2007 by Vincent Courtenay, a Canadian Korean War veteran. One newsworthy event at this year's ceremony was that three more missing Korean War veterans joined the U.N. memorial cemetery. The burial ground for U.N. casualties of the Korean War now has 2,314 fallen veterans from 11 countries, including the three recently added British troops. As a Korean War veteran myself and as a fellow human, I felt sad and sorry for the three fallen British soldiers.
