This matter was admitted as much by the Olympic Council of Malaysia (OCM) assistant secretary-general Datuk Sieh Kok Chi, a seasoned and experienced sports administrator who has been involved in the local sporting arena for more than 26 years. While acknowledging that he is still shocked by the move to drop the three sports, Kok Chi however believes there is still hope for them to return as part of the country’s core sports in the future. “Apart from aid from the NSC, these three sports need to be more focused and follow up on all the objectives and targets that have been set. This is because the core sports programme has been initiated for quite some time already, and by right they should have carried out, good, proper planning. “Every sporting body must also come up with a complete planning and achievement list for the programme which was initiated for public knowledge, but from what I see, some sporting bodies do not carry it out in entirety,” added Kok Chi.
