SHAH ALAM: A former convict held his siblings hostage in a shophouse at Lorong Batu Nilam 1E, Bandar Bukit Tinggi Klang yesterday. Klang Selatan police chief Assistant Commissioner Shamsul Amar Ramli said the 28-year-old man, who was armed with a knife and a pair of scissors had held his younger siblings, a man and a woman, captive for more than three hours. Police and the Fire and Rescue Department rushed to the scene after receiving a distress call on the incident. “The two siblings were finally rescued by police and the Fire and Rescue Department after negotiating for three hours with their captor. The case is being investigated under Section 506 and Section 324 of the Penal Code for criminal intimidation and for causing hurt respectively.
