Kiwi singer doesn't feel safe after homophobic abuse

Possum Plows and their girlfriend Rosemary were verbally abused after kissing in public. Kiwi singer Possum Plows and their girlfriend Rosemary were verbally abused after kissing in public outside a Countdown supermarket in Ponsonby, Auckland. The pop-punk band Openside singer, who is gender nonbinary and identifies with the pronouns they and them, wrote about the attack on Twitter. Plows did not let the incident get them down and ended the post with an empathetic message. Their band Openside gained recognition in 2016 after British popstar Ellie Goulding chose the spiky pop punk band to open her two shows in New Zealand.
