Kiwi fishermen jailed on assault charges in Falkland Islands


Fishing vessel San Aspiring next to the San Aotea in the South Atlantic in December last year. Three fishermen from the vessels have been sentenced for violent conduct in the Falkland Islands. The three Kiwi fishermen off Timaru-based fishing vessels who admitted assault charges in the Falklands Islands have been jailed. Ball, Goldsworthy, and Duncan had assaulted a group of customers at Deano’s Bar in Stanley on June 29 after being refused service. Sanford vessel San Aotea II had left Timaru with a replacement crew aboard for the San Aspiring on June 6.
