With one round of Super Rugby to go, New Zealand’s superiority in rugby union is obvious to see. If it weren’t for the incredible depth of talent at that position in South African rugby – and that racial quota imposed by South African sport, he would have a lot more caps for the national side. In terms of rugby, the Lions are your typical South African side with a powerful forward pack and approach to taking points on the board. Perhaps, the Lions’ focus was on their own conference and beating their fellow teams from South Africa, Japan and Argentina.
