Gonzalo Rivera Pavon, a 29-year-old bartender living in Christchurch, pleaded not guilty at a Christchurch District Court hearing on Monday. Police and Customs revealed the haul of high-grade cocaine after a six-week covert investigation, which used various surveillance techniques. Last week, Pavon was granted name suppression for a week to tell his family in Mexico of his arrest. He remanded Pavon in custody to appear on July 25, with the two alleged co-offenders, in the Manukau District Court in Auckland.
