Traders in Kisumu are counting losses after Cord's protests on Monday that left one person dead. Naivas supermarket incurred losses after street children and some of the protesters broke in and looted gas cylinders. Tumaini supermarket was the hardest hit after protesters broke through the entrance and looted goods. Naivas Kisumu branch manager Philemon Oyugi said the looters broke through the supermarket gate and started looting. Antonito Odero, a small scale business operator in Kisumu, woke up to find her stall vandalised.
