NIS disowns evidence used in Tunoi tribunal


NIS has denied authoring a report that has been filed before the tribunal investigating embattled Supreme Court judge Philip Tunoi. Watch: [VIDEO] NIS confirms Tunoi SMSs to KiplagatAlthough it was not signed, the report was used by the Judicial Service Commission as part of its evidence to recommend a probe into Tunoi’s conduct. Tunoi threatened to go to court to force NIS to admit or deny the document. The five-page report documents communication between journalist Geofrey Kiplagat on behalf of Tunoi, and Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero's handlers to facilitate the alleged Sh200 million bribe. In a letter produced by lead counsel Paul Nyamodi, the National Intelligence Service denies responsibility for the report.
