It’s been described as a touch of summer after a long bleak winter – and it’s safe to say no one is happier than the king himself. Charles’ return to public life has driven home how much he loves meeting people, shaking hands, swopping jokes and chatting away on walk-abouts. And for royal fans the fact the king is back – albeit not on a full-time basis – was reason enough to break out the bubbly. The monarch wasted no time getting out and about after Buckingham Palace announced he was well enough for a gradual return to public-facing duties.
