Kidero joined politics after resigning his 8 years post as a CEO of Mumias Sugar Company in 2012. He is seeking to defend the positions under competition by current Nairobi Senator, Mike Sonko, Peter Kenneth who was a presidential candidate in 2013 and Miguna Miguna.
