The high-level forum was organised by the Office of the UN Secretary-General's Special Envoy for Road Safety, led by French motor racing executive Jean Todt, and supported by the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe. The roundtable reviewed global progress under the UN's Second Decade of Action for Road Safety (2021–2030), which aims to cut road traffic deaths and injuries by 50% by 2030. Khunying Patama said road safety is a shared global responsibility requiring sustained leadership and multi-stakeholder cooperation.
