Khelafat Majlis has withdrawn more than of its 72 candidates who had qualified in the nomination scrutiny phase for the 13th National Parliamentary Election, aiming to preserve unity within the 10-party alliance. Following directives from its central leadership, the party’s parliamentary candidates submitted withdrawal letters to their respective district returning offices on Tuesday. Party leaders, activists, and candidates from allied parties, including Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami, NCP, and Bangladesh Khelafat Majlis, were present during the process. Before the election schedule was announced, Khelafat Majlis had been campaigning by nominating candidates in 258 parliamentary seats. The remaining Khelafat Majlis candidates will contest the election under the 10-party alliance banner, using the wall clock symbol.
