“Despite claims of Naya Pakistan by Prime Minister Imran Khan, the people of Khairpur district continued to suffer from power outages caused by SEPCO. There is no respite in power outages despite formation of Imran Khan’s government in the country, who used to make big claims during sit-ins that power load-shedding would be brought under control when he came to power. In Khairpur district, 2.4 million population is being hit hard by power load shedding. Business as well as social activates are badly affected due to lingering power outages since last 15 years. Imran Khan during political campaigns on containers and election drive have made big claims of resolving power outages issue, but there is not progress yet as 6 to 18 hours power outages hit people hard, making their lives miserable.
