OAKLAND — That meeting in the Hamptons last July that delivered Kevin Durant to the Golden State Warriors always felt like a move that would change the NBA. For Durant, the 39 points in the close-out game was fitting as he claimed the first title in his 10-year career. Curry was no slouch himself in this series, but next to Durant he was merely part of the supporting cast. And when your support is averaging almost 28 points a night, you know you’re going to be in pretty good shape. They were wildly overmatched in terms of talent and depth in this one but made it a series primarily on the backs of James, Irving and Smith.
