Wired internet subscriptions increased by 8.3 per cent to 124,637 in 2016, up from 115,111 registered in 2015. In 2016, fixed fiber-optic subscriptions, which had been previously combined with fixed cable subscriptions, were separated. Internet users grew by 11 per cent to an estimated 39.4 million in 2016 compared to a growth of 35.9 per cent in 2015. Broad band subscriptions also increased in demand by 76.4 per cent to 12.5 million subscribers in 2016 while GSM mobile networks had the largest share with 11.2 million subscribers in 2016.
