Kenya : URP MPs criticise Kabogo over remarks on Ruto presidential bid

Updated Thu, June 9th 2016 at 11:25 GMT +3NANDI, KENYA: Two URP MPs from the North Rift have criticized Kiambu Governor William Kabogo over his remarks that Mount Kenya support for Deputy President William Ruto in 2022 will not be automatic. URP rebel MPs MP Oscar Sudi(Kapseret) and his Nandi Hills counterpart Alfred Keter took issue with the remarks saying that they are meant to create division in Jubilee and the country. He accused Kabogo of undermining Jubilee saying the Governor has no moral authority to make such statements. The legislator noted that President Uhuru Kenyatta has already made it clear that he will cede his seat to Ruto in 2022 and it is an agreement that should be protected. "As Rift Valley, we are behind Ruto and Kabogo should desist from making such utterances, he is an individual and it is upon the electorate to make the decision," said Sudi.
