Authorities have called off the search of a Toyota Probox that plunged into the Indian Ocean on Monday, due to high tides and lack of adequate equipment. "We will resume the operations when the sea calms,” said Simba when he suspended the search. "Rescue and search teams have been unable to lift the car from the bottom of the sea because of high sea tides that hinder the operation as well as lack of the requisite equipments,” said Guzo. The director said that they began the rescue mission at 1.30 pm on the ill-fated day but have been forced to call off the mission due to high tides. The Kenya Ferry Services (KFS) managing director Bakari Guzo said that rescue teams from the Kenya Ports Authority (KPA), Kenya Maritime Authority (KMA) and Kenya Navy brought in their boats 25 minutes after the incident occurred.
