A Coastguard spokesperson said: 'At just after 3pm this afternoon, HM Coastguard received a report of multiple persons in difficulty in the water off Dymchurch, Kent. 'We sent the HM Coastguard search and rescue helicopter from Lydd, Dungeness Coastguard.'
