People diagnosed with coronavirus are being encouraged to familiarise themselves with the signs of the life-threatening reaction to an infection after a report released by the UK Sepsis Trust. One in five Covid-19 survivors who required hospital treatment is at risk of sepsis within a year of being discharged. The UK Sepsis Trust said that for every patient who is diagnosed early there is a cash saving to the NHS of more than £5,500, meaning 20,000 sepsis patients could cost more than £1 billion in patient care and benefits. Joe Cox underwent sepsis treatment and received antibiotics through an IV, and coronavirus had started to attack the bottom of his lungs.
