There are so many reasons to doubt Warren’s plan will work that it’s a bit boggling she would even suggest it. If even a sizeable rump of Democrat voters decide they don’t want to risk losing their existing plan, Trump stands to benefit immensely. Remember also that the last time the Democrats introduced a health care plan, their much-touted Obamacare, the roll-out was fraught with confusion and technical chaos. Obamacare added 16 million people to health-care rolls; Warren intends to trash existing plans for all 327 million Americans. “Why unnecessarily divide this country over health care when there’s a better way to deliver coverage for all?” he asked at an October debate.
