Sir Keir Starmer has told Scottish Daily Express readers that a Labour government would not drag the UK back into the European Union. The UK Labour leader ruled out a return to freedom of movement or membership of the single market, rowing back on many of his comments of recent years and admitting those arguments are "in the past". Sir Keir wrote: "Express readers deserve their politicians to be clear about where they stand. Conservative MP Paul Bristow said: "Trusting Sir Keir with Brexit is like trusting Dracula at the blood bank. Three years after Britain voted to Leave, the Labour leader was still calling for a second referendum and promising to "campaign for Remain".
