DESPITE the novel coronavirus scare, Hindus along with foreign tourists thronged Batu Caves to show their devotion and enjoy the Thaipusam celebration. Devotees were steadfast in performing their prayers while visitors marvelled at the colourful sights and capturing photos. In contrast to devotees and local tourists, the foreign visitors were spotted wearing face masks. Yogeshwari Priya Dass, 29, who has been visiting Batu Caves every Thaipusam since she was a child, complimented the efforts to ensure people’s safety there. They were visiting Batu Caves for the first time.
