There are few things as local as a town farmers market. It brings together local people, local vendors, and farmers markets have rules in place to make sure the produce and products are local, too. Edith Murnane is the executive director of Mass Farmers Market, a nonprofit organization that advocates on behalf of farmers in the state. The Daily News took a look at the rules and regulations at some farmers markets around the area and spoke with a few folks who run them to understand the reasoning behind that. The farmers market does not specifically state how much produce can come from other local farms.
