ASSOCIATED PRESSThe Toronto Raptors just won their first NBA championship in franchise history, but they can't rest easy with Kawhi Leonard set to become a free agent in a few short weeks. If Marc Gasol picks up his $25.6 million player option, Toronto will already have six of its top eight rotation members under contract when free agency begins. Leonard and Danny Green will be the Raptors' lone free agents of note, and they have Bird rights on both of them. When the Raptors acquired Leonard this past offseason, a "Raptors insider" told McKechnie, "You’re the most important person in the organization now," according to Sportsnet's Michael Grange. In the event of a catastrophic injury similar to Durant's, he could always pick up his second-year player option and test the free-agent waters in 2021 instead.
