Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed into law one of the strictest bans in the U.S. against so-called sanctuary cities that protect some undocumented immigrants from deportation. The measure requires that local law-enforcement agencies cooperate with federal immigration authorities. Jails holding illegal immigrants subject to deportation must now comply with requests by Immigration and Customs Enforcement to hold the migrants so that agents can pick them up.
