BOULDER, Colo. (AP) — Friends and colleagues say the second woman to accuse Supreme Court nominee Brett Kavanaugh of sexual misconduct is intensely private and rarely talked about her days at Yale University in the 1980s. But colleagues in Boulder, Colorado, say they sensed something in Deborah Ramirez's past had drawn her to devote her life to supporting women in trouble. Ramirez said in a story published Sunday by The New Yorker Magazine that Kavanaugh placed his penis in front of her and caused her to involuntarily touch it during a drunken dormitory party. California professor Christine Blasey Ford has also accused Kavanaugh of sexually assaulting her at a high school party. Ramirez's classmates described her as friendly, well-liked and quiet.
