President Uhuru Kenyatta has urged Tharaka Nithi residents not to be cheated into believing the county's headquarters is not in Kathwana. Uhuru said the Jubilee government has pledged to give Sh50 million to upgrade the headquarters. He spoke at Kathwana on Thursday during a tour of Tharaka Nithi county. Ruto's remarks resulted in protests in Kathwana, which like Chuka, is in Chuka Igambang'ombe constituency.
