Officials from independence party KANU are afraid of teargas, the party's Secretary General Nick Salat has said. The former Sotik legislator, however, dismissed claims that KANU was warming up to Cord ahead of the 2017 polls. Speaking during a breakfast show on Wednesday morning, Salat said that unlike other KANU members, he had been hardened by numerous tear gas encounters. He, however, clarified on Radio Jambo that he had the full blessing of his party to join forces with Cord supporters to eject the IEBC out of office. That, he said, is the reason he is not afraid to show up at Cord demos.
