Yet, he has not been on the ice for any of the Leafs’ 14 even-strength goals. “He didn’t come in here to play with Matthews, (the unsigned William) Nylander was not here, so (Ennis) got to play with (Matthews),” Babcock said. “We think Johnny is a good player, now he has to become a good player every day in the NHL.”Ennis has one assist in five games and is a minus-3.
