more-inThe government late on Thursday decided to expedite the disbursement of pension arrears totalling to ₹224 crore to retired Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) employees and to give the entire amount in one instalment in February following increasing incidents of suicides of the pensioners. Mr. Vijayan said full month pension for December, January and February and the part payment for the months of June and September will reach the 38,516 retired in one instalment. Mr. John said the Chief Minister had promised to make available the pension arrears at the earliest this month and to ensure that the monthly pension is paid till July. Mr. John said a decision to withdrawn the 50-day strike in front of the Secretariat on the basis of the assurance given by the Chief Minister will be taken on Friday. Jyothilal and KSRTC CMD A.
