The Kenya Medical Association has announced the closure of all private health facilities for 24 hours starting Monday midnight. They said this will be in protest against the imprisonment of doctors' union officials following the latter's incarceration for contempt of court. "Specialist doctors are going to withdraw their services from all hospitals for 24 hours as directed by KMA," one of the tweets said. The jailed officials include chairman Samuel Oroko and Secretary General Ouma Oluga. He said they will not appoint interim officials to replace the jailed officials, adding that they will be taking orders from prison.
