KABAGE: Security and preservation of our freedoms must go

By KARANJA KABAGEMore by this AuthorThe Constitution — under the bill of rights — guarantees us freedoms of conscience, expression, media, access to information and association among others. It is against this background that we need to ask ourselves what constitutes the status of a nation. This is a cardinal underlying duty because it is what makes a people proud of belonging to a country and identifying with it. Therefore, it is incumbent upon every citizen of Kenya to be mindful of how we conduct ourselves in the quest for preservation of the country’s integrity and fellow citizen’s security and freedoms. It is in this context, therefore, that our security and freedoms must always remain mutually inclusive in preservation of our dignity as citizens.
