Justice Sinha faces graft and 10 other charges, colleagues refused to work with him, says SC


The Supreme Court cited 11 charges, including graft and moral lapse, against Sinha. Justice Sinha told the media that he was leaving ‘temporarily’ for the 'sake of the judiciary's image'. Later on Oct 1, the five top court judges held a meeting as Justice Imman Ali was available and agreed to speak with Justice Sinha over the allegations. In that context, the president, in line with the Constitution's Article 97, appointed the next senior judge Justice Md Abdul Wahhab Miah to fulfil the duties of the chief justice." Sinha's statement on 'interference' was made in reference to Law Minister Anisul Huq's remarks quoting the acting Chief Justice Wahhab Miah.
