Jubilee Party has deployed a strong team to oversee hotly contested nominations in Uasin Gishu and Nandi, where Deputy President William Ruto’s allies are battling it out for governor seat. Party director Joseph Mathai will be regional coordinator in the two counties, while Jama Genney will be the returning officer in Uasin Gishu county. “We are already overseeing distribution of materials to all polling centres for nominations,” Mathai said. Party officials said they are ready for the primaries in the party’s Rift Valley strongholds, and attempts to rig or interfere with the polls will not be entertained. The director said party officials have been trained, and adequate security will be provided.
