Our correspondent gathered that the 33-year-old suspect was arrested by vigilantes at Asjam on the Du Road in Udu. Sources said the suspect was an indigene and a “fighter” for the Oghior community in the ongoing boundary dispute with the Ukpiovwinc community in the Udu Local Government Area. But some community leaders and lawyers were said to have been calling for his release from police custody, saying he was being set up by the security agencies. When contacted, the Delta State Commissioner of Police, Mr Hafiz Inuwa, confirmed the suspect’s arrest. He is already on the wanted list of the police for robbery and killing of a motorcyclist in Udu,” the CP stated.
