The executive editor of the online newspaper “Natun Somoy” has been arrested after the Walton Group accused him of tarnishing the company’s image by deliberately running a fabricated report. Ahmed Razu was arrested from his Segunbagicha office on Sunday night, police’s Ramna zone Deputy Commissioner Maruf Hasan Sardar told the Dhaka Tribune on Monday. He has been produced before a magistrate court on Monday. Walton filed the case with Ramna police under the ICT Act. The journalist used to work for Walton-owned online newspaper Rising BD but was sacked.
