India has lodged a protest with Moscow over Russia 's recent "anti-terror" joint military exercise with Pakistan , a country accused of sponsoring and promoting terrorism.The development comes ahead of the 17th annual India-Russia summit on October 14 in Goa on the sidelines of the Brics summit. PM Narendra Modi and President Vladimir Putin will review the entire gamut of bilateral relations amid growing uneasiness here over Russia's security ties with Pakistan. Russia's first ever military exercise with Pakistan in the Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa region in September came days after the Uri attack in which Pakistani terrorists killed 19 Indian soldiers. We have been holding these exercises for the last few years with Russia and we will continue to do so. On commercial ties, he said the two sides were "actively" working to meet the bilateral trade target of $30 billion by 2025.
