(As the son of two university professors with a PhD from UT Austin I know whereof I speak.) After promising system change she offered the slogan “You privatize it? In what sense is this a pushback against the elites, especially given the size of government today and the privileged position of its employees? Does Niki Ashton want to privatize universities or abolish tenure to shake up the elites? Who, one wonders, are these naughty elites that haunt Niki Ashton’s dreams?
