John Ivison: Liberals’ electoral reform town halls are meaningless gatherings of ‘democra-geeks’


Mark Holland has probably had some sympathy with that sentiment during his time as co-host of the electoral reform town hall, currently going nationwide. Native youth, the disabled and those with exceptionalities are thronging this electoral reform townhall. To be fair, the electoral reform townhall did fill up a bit - maybe 75 citizens. Monsef maintained at various points that Canadians do want change — the barometer of which was deemed to be a vote for a party that proposed electoral reform. The current electoral system has flaws but it is not set in stone — it responds to changes in society, if not as quickly as some reformers would like.
