KUALA LUMPUR: A jobless man was sentenced to seven months' in jail for slapping, punching, choking and kicking his wife for not answering his phone call. According to the facts of the case, the accused returned home and was angry with his wife for not answering his call at 8.15am. The victim cried and screamed before running to the top floor of the house and called her 17-year-old son. Investigations revealed that the accused frequently assaulted his wife whenever there was a misunderstanding. The accused, who was not represented, told the court he would not repeat his act and appealed to return to his wife and seek her forgiveness.
