Jigawa Governor, Alhaji Umar Namadi has announced plans of the state, to cultivate 150,000 hectares of wheat next season farming, saying the “only way to move people out of poverty is through the development of agriculture”. She disclosed that Governor Namadi expressed his determination to improve food security in the state and the county in general. It be recalled that Jigawa state was allocated 40,000 hectares of land for wheat farming under the initiative to enhance food security in Nigeria where over 10,000 farmers are supported with agricultural inputs for effective farming. The statement said the Jigawa state governor thumbed up for President Tinubu for initiating various agricultural intervention programmes since the inception of his administration. Other key stakeholders appreciate the support and commitment of Jigawa state government and assured willingness to maintain the cordial relationship between the two parties.
