The incident occurred on Saturday, November 2, 2024, when armed robbers ambushed a customer shortly after he had delivered raw gold to the shop. One of the shop owners, Clement Amos Baffour, stated in an interview with GhanaWeb TV’s #SayItLoud that the customer, who had just received payment for his gold, was attacked as he was leaving the shop. He had obtained additional funds from another location, making the total around GH¢7.5 million,” said one of the owners. At the time of the robbery, both owners were absent from the shop.
