Jetstar plans to suspend its Christchurch to Sydney service in mid-October "due to its challenging commercial performance". DEAN KOZANIC/STUFF Jetstar implied there is a lack of demand for the non-stop Christchurch to Sydney service. Jetstar will continue to offer direct flights from Christchurch to Melbourne and the the Gold Coast. The Melbourne service is daily and the Gold Coast service three times a week. Air New Zealand operates non-stop flights from Christchurch, Wellington and Queenstown to Sydney several times and week and, from Auckland, three to five times a day.
