Jessica Yellin, the former CNN White House correspondent, has found an unusual way to deliver an exposé of her old industry. Her first novel, “Savage News,” to be published April 9, offers what she has called “a glimpse of what it’s like to be on the bright side of the camera lens.” The book focuses on the travails of her 30-something heroine, Natalie Savage, as she competes against a young, buffed and brattish male rival for an on-air job covering the White House for a cable network called ATN.
