Utah trailed 16-9 in early going against the Rockets but Rodney Hood had 10 points during a 20-5 first-quarter run that turned the game around and the Jazz led from then on. James Harden scored 26 points to lead Houston but was an inefficient 8 for 23 from the field. San Antonio committed a season-worst 19 turnovers, which led to 19 Orlando points, and had its lowest score of the season. Detroit shot 49 percent from the field to win 112-89 at Charlotte, led by 24 points from Tobias Harris.
