Highlights 1 A team from Japan will conduct safety audit to check the status of Indian Railways. Rattled by five train derailments in two months, the Indian Railways is set to go for an external audit of its passenger safety system. Japanese experts, along with those from South Korea, Italy and France are already probing the Patna-Indore express derailment at Pukhrayan. This is because Indian Railways lack the technology to check track safety. Manufacture of ICF coaches will be stopped completely from 2018-19 and production of LHB coaches will be expedited from 2017-18.
