TOKYO—Japanese suppliers of facial-recognition technology and other security equipment are getting a leg up from a U.S. campaign to reduce reliance on China. “It’s a huge opportunity—unprecedented,” said Toshifumi Yoshizaki, an executive at NEC Corp. in charge of security systems, on Friday. “We have to go in now,” he said, speaking on the sidelines of an NEC event in Tokyo.
