Japan to continue support for Bangladesh's development

The Japanese envoy made the assurance when he met the Bangladeshi premier at her official residence Ganabhaban, on Monday, reports UNB. Ihsanul said the Japanese envoy informed Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina that during her upcoming visit to Japan, the 40th Official Development Assistance (ODA) agreement of $2.5 billion will be signed, which is 35% higher than the one made in 2018. Mentioning that Japan is a great friend of Bangladesh, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina recalled the contributions of Japan in the economic development of the country and construction of Rupsha Bridge during Bangabandhu's regime, right after Bangladesh's independence. Among others, Principal Secretary M Nojibur Rahman, Principal Coordinator on SDG Affairs of Prime Minister's Office Md Abul Kalam Azad and PMO Secretary Sajjadul Hassan were also present at the meeting.
